FENAVIN, the National Wine Fair, is bringing 700 buyers from 60 countries to its 2013 trade fair, open between May 7 and 9, 2013. The International Buyers Program from the Business Centre, which makes contact with important buyers in each international market via a global network of delegates, has now closed

Once again, the Ciudad Real Chamber of Commerce is working with the fair organizers to achieve their business objectives, thanks to a deal signed by the Ciudad Real Provincial Council. At the signing, President Nemesio de Lara, and the leader of the Ciudad Real Chamber of Commerce, Mariano León, inked a deal that allows both organizations to continue to work together to establish a strong network of international contacts. Also present at the signing were Fair Director, Manuel Juliá, and Chamber Director General, Patricia Franco.

De Lara explained that the goal of the upcoming National Wine Fair is to make sure that the 700 international buyers, attending from 60 countries, make the maximum number of commercial contacts. The number of buyers is up by 10% from the previous event, when 626 buyers came from 54 countries.

For the Fair President, "the role of this fair is to improve business results for our wineries, both internationally and within Spain. This is clear to us and clear to the sector professionals who attend".

Chamber of Commerce President Mariano León noted that, "the renewal of our cooperation agreement is a strong sign of the commitment that the Provincial Council shows towards businesses in the province". He also stressed that, "the way out of the crisis is to expand our international business horizons".

León: "FENAVIN is the most important wine fair in the country"

León highlighted that "FENAVIN is the most important wine fair in the country, according to the sector professionals who attend the event year after year".

The seventh FENAVIN trade fair, which opens its doors on May 7, 2013, will welcome buyers from countries where new business opportunities are opening up, such as Belarus, Chile, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Thailand and South Africa.

Delegates have already started to make contact with the most important buyers and distributors in all the countries targeted by the fair organizers.

2,283 buyers from 59 countries since 2001

Since the first fair in 2001, FENAVIN has focused on internationalization and has brought 2,283 buyers from 59 countries to Ciudad Real for business purposes. Most of these buyers are from mature wine markets such as Germany (302 buyers), the United States (220), Great Britain (171), Poland (154), Japan (146), Scandinavia (145) and Belgium (141). FENAVIN also focuses on emerging markets such as Brazil, China, Russia and India. In fact, since the first fair, it has welcomed 133 Chinese buyers, 72 Brazilians, 42 Russians and 28 Indians, along with 31 buyers from other countries with a strong interest in Spanish wine, such as 31 from Lebanon, 30 from Hong Kong, 25 from Taiwan, and 19 from Singapore.
