This figure is already higher than the total number of meetings arranged on the eve of the previous Fair.
Japan, Germany, China and Russia are the countries that have arranged most meetings with Spanish wineries, with the most in-demand wineries being from Ciudad Real, Madrid and Barcelona.
As of Thursday April 25, wineries from all over Spain and buyers from 61 countries attending the FENAVIN 2013 fair from May 7, have prearranged a total of 3,942 meetings thanks to the Contact with… program. This software tool, designed by the Fair management to optimize business contacts between supply and demand, started to function on April 8. It has enabled the 1,214 wineries and 700 registered buyers coming to the Fair to fill their diaries with 3,942 meetings, a 1.2% increase on the total number of meetings arranged by the eve of the previous FENAVIN Fair in 2011.
The positive experiences of participants at previous Fairs has caused a rush among buyers and producers keen to prearrange their meetings in a fast and efficient manner.
Among the figures produced by the software, the high demand for meetings from Japan, Germany, Russia and China stands out.
As for the regions of Spain that have seen the highest demand for meetings, Ciudad Real is top, followed by Madrid and Barcelona.
The high demand for meetings from both buyers and producers is a strong signal that the Fair's objective of arranging 6,000 meetings prior to the three day event is achievable. It also suggests that trade is going to be, even more than during previous events, the central focus of the seventh Fair.
All the registered exhibitors at the Fair, using codes provided by the management, are connecting with buyers from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, South Korea, Costa Rica, Denmark, USA, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Philippines, Finland, France, Holland, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Oman, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Ecuador, El Salvador, Turkey and Ukraine, as well as with countries that signed up to the software this year; Belarus, Chile, Croatia, Morocco, Serbia, South Africa, Thailand and Uruguay.
The Fair management estimates, using figures from past events as a guide, that 17.56% of the meetings requested by exhibitors are arranged during the last few days before the Fair. For this reason it is convinced that the software will be as busy in the period before the Fair opens its doors as it has been since it first started to work.
